📝 Why Your Dog Pulls on the Leash
Is walking your dog more of a workout than a relaxing stroll? You're not alone. Leash pulling is one of the most common complaints I hear as a dog trainer in Omaha—and the good news is, it's fixable.
Dogs pull because it works (for them). It’s rewarding to them - they want to sniff something, meet another dog, or move faster—and the pulling gets them there. It is no different than a 6-year old child pulling your hand to go meet Mickey Mouse. The key is to teach them that staying close gets better results (rewards) and I will show you how.
I use positive reinforcement to teach loose leash walking. That means we reward calm walking near you and teach dogs that pulling gets them nowhere. No harsh corrections. No prong collars. Just clear communication and consistent feedback.
If your dog is dragging you down the sidewalk, let’s fix it—together.
