Deaf dog trained to be focused and wait calmly while fishing

My Training Approach & Philosophy

I offer modern dog training rooted in science and built on operant conditioning & positive reinforcement. My approach is focused on helping people build a stronger, two-way relationship with their dogs—one based on trust, communication, and fun. Dogs are easy to train - humans not so much LOL. That’s why I focus on clear communication - using language and examples you will understand. Most of all, I make training FAST and FUN!

  1. All Positive, Force-Free Methods
No prong collars, no yelling, no intimidation—just science-backed positive reinforcement.

  2. You’ll Learn How Dogs Think
I teach you why your dog behaves the way they do, and how to change behavior for good.

  3. Clear Communication
You'll learn a simple, consistent training language that your dog actually understands.

  4. Realistic Daily Practice
Just 5–10 minutes a day of focused training creates long-term results and a better bond.

  5. No Quick Fixes—Real, Lasting Change
We build strong foundation behaviors that stick—no gimmicks or outdated techniques.

  6. Fast, Fun, and Focused Sessions
You’ll see results quickly while keeping it fun for both you and your dog.

  7. Rock-Solid Self-Control Skills
We work on impulse control and calmness—great for leash manners, reactivity, and guests.

  8. Rewards That Motivate Your Dog
I use food, toys, and praise to reinforce great choices and keep dogs eager to learn.

  9. You and Your Dog = A Team
Training is about connection, trust, and teamwork—not dominance.

  10. Certified & Ethical
I follow the CCPDT Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

  11. Professional, Thorough, and Results-Driven
You’ll always work with me—not an assistant or hourly employee.

  12. Focus on Eye Contact & Engagement
Teaching your dog to want to work with you—because you’re the most rewarding thing around.

Thoughts About Dogs……

Dogs have the intelligence of a 3-year-old child. They're impulsive, curious, and playful. Many people get a dog without realizing they are now the proud parent of an eternal 3-year old toddler.

Dogs can often get frustrated by a world that doesn't make sense to them. Many breeds were developed to work jobs that no longer exist, so they invent their own: digging trenches, nipping, shredding furniture, or running perimeter patrols.

That’s why my training focuses on impulse control and structured play - lots of mental work - a job. I teach dogs what to do instead of constantly punishing what not to do. Want better manners? A calmer walk? A future in dog sports? It all starts with communication, structure, and games that teach real-life skills. A dog with a job is a well-behaved and happy companion!

Whether you want better behavior, a stronger relationship, or want to do more with your dog, we’ll build a program that fits your lifestyle—and brings out the best in both of you.
